Sandra Kurt for Akron Clerk of Courts
Summit County Progressive Democrats proudly announces our unanimous board endorsement of Sandra Kurt for Akron Clerk of Courts. We believe Sandra Kurt holds our progressive values and leads with ethics and concern for the community around her.
Sandra Kurt has served our community in various public offices. Her first venture into politics was serving Akron’s Ward 8 citizens as councilwoman. From there she went to the Summit County Council as an At-large member and Vice President. Since 2016, she has served the public as the Clerk of Courts for Summit County. In her role as the Summit County Clerk of Courts, she helped innovate the office with modernization that has produced more efficient services for the county. We have complete confidence that Sandra Kurt will do the same to the Akron Clerk of Courts office.
With these accomplishments, you would think she is a career politician, but you would be incorrect. She was an Industrial Engineer before she jumped into politics. We are glad she did as her creative and thoughtful ideas along with her leadership have made Summit County stronger.
She also is a member of the Sierra Club continuing to demonstrate her commitment to a progressive value, the environment. (And when did the environment ever declare loyalty to a political party?) Sandra Kurt upholds the values that the Summit County Progressive Democrats was founded on almost 20 years ago. We are completely committed to our support for her as our next Akron Clerk of Courts!
