August, 2020 General Meeting
Our next General Membership Meeting will be August 11, 2020 at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be conducted over Zoom.
Glenn Campbell will present on the Green New Deal. Glenn has been a volunteer activist working on environment-related issues in Northeast Ohio for more than 25 years. He has worked with groups ranging from the Sierra Club to 350.org to Citizens Climate Lobby to the Northeast Ohio Coalition for a Green New Deal. He lives in Lakewood.
Glenn’s presentation will provide an overview of the Green New Deal proposal and its particular take on addressing the climate crisis, with an emphasis on how progressives can help make it a reality. It assumes a baseline general knowledge of climate change and will explore the rationale for the Green New Deal rather than focusing on the well-established science behind the need for climate action. Lots of time will be provided for Q&A and discussion.
